I handed in my last degree assignments yesterday, took part in my final exam and have just one more portfolio of work to print off before I officially bring three years of University living to a close. Expect a blogging burst in the next few days, as well as a liveblog Twitterfest on Tuesday to mark Nintendo’s E3 press conference.

Deary me, just look at the dates between this post and the last. More than a month. What the hell have I been doing?
Oh, right. 56-page magazine from the ground up.
That’s officially out the way today as it’s sent off to the printers – complete with any typos which I may have missed during four exhausting proof-readings. (I nearly cried last night when I saw “Donky Kong”, just as I finished exporting what I was confident would be the final PDF.)

For those that worry about this sort of thing, the blood results are in! All normal. Or to quote the doctor, “Spot on.” Nice to know my blood is as spot on as it was last year. And the year before. And the year before…

Anyone who made those pessimistic comments will now be wearing a smug grin and patting themselves on the back as, to no-one’s surprise at all, my to-do list still has plenty of unchecked boxes.

So, I’ve been back at University for one full week, already dealt with a small electrical fire, pumped out more than 7,000 words (of 4,500 required) and taught some youngsters how to tackled that tricky old InDesign programme. But guess what, after the eight-hour, 400-mile journey that my folks and I made over a week ago… I have a fortnight off!
Whoever decided that we wouldn’t want a five-week Christmas holiday (easily achievable if we just started a week earlier) is a numpty. However, it does provide me with an interesting …

With Amy and me opening up the 200-mile gap that frequently splits us for hopefully the last time, I found myself in that now annual tradition of the misty-eyed haze where I reflect on the passing year and wonder what the heck the next 365 days have in store for me. It’s a bit later than planned, and it’s going to be a melodramatic post, as I type in the words “biggest year of my life so far”.
